Environmental Management

Active and sustainable environmental protection has become one of the top priorities of our world. Each and every one of us can make a difference but we as a company are also being called upon to do so more than ever before. Therefore, this task is a basic component of M&C's target system.

M&C has created an effective active environmental management system and continues to develop it. In our own interest, we practice this consciously and very actively.

Implementation

M&C does not have an environmental management system according to EN ISO 14001ff, since such a comprehensive system is not relevant to us because it is not geared to individual circumstances and therefore cannot reflect the task structure and the specific issues at M&C. This does not mean, however, that we disregard the requirements of this system.

We are a company that, due to its business purpose, organization or production, does not create a harmful source of emissions; M&C does not emit any environmental pollutants. Even without being certified, controllable parameters in the field of environmental protection are important to us. This is why we follow the EU regulations No. 1221/2009 and No. 196/2006 and their annexes, which form the basis of the EN ISO 14001ff.

Buildings and Production Facilities

M&C's administration and production buildings as well as the production facilities as such do not have an environmental impact, either internally or externally, beyond the normal level resulting from their mere existence.

For us, the use of regenerative energies is a matter of course. Our buildings are equipped with solar energy systems to minimize the consumption of resources. M&C also uses the possibilities of geothermal energy.

Products

During the manufacture of our products, it is important to us to avoid pollutants or keep their occurrence as low as possible. Especially in the case of new pre-products or modified input materials (raw materials, consumables and supplies), both their procurement and their use are also evaluated in terms of environmental protection aspects.

In addition, we also focus on purchasing products from local suppliers in order to contribute to the minimization of transport routes.

We understand this task as part of our quality management certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001ff, especially the demand for continuous improvement of processes and products. An example of successfully excluding harmful substances is the abandonment of using mercury, cadmium, lead, etc.

The environmentally relevant hazardous and polluting substances that are technically unavoidable at M&C and only occur in very small quantities are exclusively the result of upstream production processes. Only small sections of our own production program are affected. We record these materials in a pollutant register.

In order to comply with the directive 2002/96/EC from 2003 (amended 2008) and the German ElektroG (Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act), we report our production quantities as a member of the EAR (National Register for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) foundation. The task of this foundation is the organization of a reasonable recycling management. This is achieved by monitoring the respective delivery quantities of the member companies. In this way, we make an active contribution to the recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment or corresponding components.

Environmental Protection in Daily Business Operations

Our commitment to protecting the environment is also reflected in our daily business activities. As a matter of course, the separation of waste, the monitoring of consumed paper, packaging materials and solvents as well as the proper disposal of electronic equipment no longer in use or hazardous waste are our sustainable contribution to active environmental protection. This is not an empty slogan but controlled practice.
